Professional Review of "Jerry For You (2nd Version)"
===================================
Just so-so: Jerry For You ~ Jerry Yan
After Zhou YuMin and Wu JianHao, here comes another F4 star Jerry Yan entering the music arena. Jerry, nicknamed "T-Rex", has just released the latest album Jerry For You. The 10-solo record is a major milestone in the Taiwanese highflying career.
Produced by star producers including Li SiSong, Liu TianJian, Wang ZhiPing and Mai KeLin, Jerry the T-Rex's first ever album sees the majority of songs being ballads with two to three upbeat songs. On one hand, the quality is there and it is as good as any other idol singers' first album. On the other hand, most songs are ordinary and of no characters and that prevents the album from being impressive in any sense.
As for Jerry's singing, it is not as poor as expected. As the present reviewer did say two years ago in the album review of Liu Xing Yu, he was definitely better than his F4 partner Zhou YuMin. Yet, Jerry is far from good and needs a lot of hard work and improvements in musical sense and __expression and establishing personal characters.
One Meter (Track#1), the theme song of a commercial, is a nice ballad in which Jerry performs OK too. The rhythm of Memory Pieces (Track#3) is ear-appealing and the rap by him in it is remarkable for a rookie.
However, his performance and singing becomes far less attractive when it comes to fast songs such as I Want It Now (Track#7) and Be A Good Lover (Track#2). As for the others like Gravity (Track#6), Decoration (Track#4), I Want To Love You (Track#5) and Forget Myself (Track#9), they worth sparing time listening to.
Recommendations: One Meter (Track#1), Memory Pieces(Track#3) and Decoration (Track#4)
