Jerry Being Difficult? Yesterday there are reports from Taiwan pointing the finger at Jerry saying that he refused to appear at the same time with the other F3. No matter it's in front of camera or behind, he was very persistant this has gave the management company a big headache. Looks as if F4 splitting is a sure thing.
Reports pointed that Jerry was being very incoperative, not only he arrived in Hong Kong by himself ahead of the 3, he was even not present when the F3 went house hunting with the manager. Even end of last year when they four of them sang [YHDJJ] MV, the production has to use computer effects to make as if they appear on the same time. The meet the fans session which saw F4 split into 2 groups again pointed the finger at Jerry who refused to co-operate thus the record has to split the group into 2. Earlier when they were in China to shoot the commercialfor the clothes and MV, even when attending the acting lessons, Jerry refused to appear together with the other 3. The taiwanese manager is trying very hard to talk to him to at least finishes their 3rd group album.- Anne of F4 Heaven.
[Note: I think that the reporter is just trying to stir up news since Jerry went to HK early to practice his dance with Sammi.]

Jerry Carries Pepsi Cartons 13 March 2003 - F4's Jerry, Vanness & Jay Chou arrived back in Taiwan the day before froM Hong Kong. There were many fans waiting to welcome them back in the Taipei Airport.
Jerry was in an extremely good mood in Hong Kong and even teased the reporters there for fun but once he reached Taipei airport and seeing his fans, his expression was a bit cold. Although Jerry's face was spotting a stiff smile but his fans were still screaming for him without much care. He and Vanness hurried to the van to make departure from the airport.
Jerry went straight to the company from the airport and has also took many stuffs with him from there, amongst the things that he took were 3 cartons of Pepsi. Looks like he still haven't get enough drinking Pepsi during the H.K. concert. Upon reaching Taipei, even took home a few cartons to drink slowly.

5566 needs to learn from F4 2003-03-03 - Taiwan's new sensation 5566's manager had recently insulted and put down F4, saying that their concert costumes were outdated, and that their concert was not outstanding, 5566 expressed modestly, that they have yet still to learn from F4.
Following the release of their debut album "1st Album" they arrived in Malaysia to promote. When the subject of their manager insulting F4 was brought up, reporters asked them to use a entertainer's perspective and rate F4's concert costumes. The three members:Tony Sun, Zax Wong and Jason Hui. expressed to the reporters that they should go consult their manager on this matter. But, they feel that F4's energy and atmosphere that they created during the concert was something that they should learn to develop.
"F4's costumes, they each have their own styles. We need to learn from F4 on this side too, but it was our manager who said their costumes were bad, you would have to go ask him, the moment he heard this subject brought up, he left right away."
Insulting F4? This has nothing to do with 5566. 5566 revealed that "Every concert has both ups and downs, each person has different opinions. Our group and F4's group are different, we both need to learn and take after from each other's good points, 5566 will have to look up to F4 for tips and find out their the secret behind their charm!"
Regarding the fact that they want to overpower F4?
When reporters were asking this question, someone even asked, "Or do you feel that you guys have already passed F4's success?"
".......No, we haven't. It's normal for groups to compare one another. Also, each group will hope that they will become better than the other groups, and develop in a stronger group. We certainly aren't an exception, to want to surpass other groups, requires alot of self-confidance and hard work!"

5-26-03 - F4's value have tripled! They are now Pepsi Superstars and are scheduled to be filming their individual commercials soon. Jerry Yan, not only revealed his muscular build and his 'super man' image in the recent photoshoot, his income is also a record amongst the four of them. Jerry alone will be raking in over $10million for his company. Last year, F4 became spokespeople for Pepsi and their income was banked as a whole, now that they have gone solo, this amount has tripled. Despite SARS, they will each film a commercial this month. Ken will filming his in Hong Kong. When trying out the outfits for his 10 different images, even Ken had to admit that he was 'shuai!'. Jerry has been on holidays and his whereabouts were quite mysterious. But in the new photoshoot, his muscles were more obvious, hence the organizers immediately decided to film him revealing his chest. He managed to beat muscle man Vanness at his own game! The international market for Jerry is looking very prosperous. Adding together all his promotional and advertising activities, it exceeds the other three. The next in line is Vic Zhou. In contrast, he was wrapped completely from head to toe, but very adorable. His income closely follows Jerry, but everyone thinks he won big time, no need to do training and still rakes in big bucks! Vanness has gone for more of the sunny appeal, being conservative about what he reveals. But when he saw Jerry's muscles, he was taken back: "What? You've been training in hiding, not bad ah..." Since going solo, the four are still immensely popular, and now might proceed to going to a Pepsi Superstar tour activity in Thailand and other countries. Their future achievements will depend on their own performance! Translated by: Carolina Roboch

5-26-03 - The F4 has just made it big in the Philippines after Meteor Garden 1 was released on May 05. As of now, their characters’ names (Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Xi Men, Mei Zuo) can be heard everywhere, from kids to teens to adults (including seniors). Because of their sudden popularity, the F4 songs tops the myx daily and weekly hitcharts, including the song Broken Vow. They defeated a lot of well-known artists such as Christina Aguilera, Jason Mraz, Linkin Park, Simple Plan, Matchbox 20, Avril Lavigne, and a lot more! They have beaten a lot of television programs and because of this, news about them have been included in other shows also. People are just too crazy about them, that you could find their pictures/picture messages/ringing tones in the cellphones of the F4 fans. Not only this, vendors of the F4 posters are making money fast! There are rumors that F4 were going to the Philippines, but nothing has been comfirmed. Translated by: Carolina Roboch

5-23-03 - This year, F4 disbanding is the hottest rumor going around. However, their management company stresses that F4 have not disbanded, they will just be filming their upcoming Pepsi commercials separately. Each with a different commercial and song. Last 2 yeasr, F4 rose to fame as Meteor Garden spread around the world. Pepsi immdiately snatched them for a commercial with an 8 digit figure payment. They also sang Ask For More, the Pepsi theme song. After a year, in 2003 Pepsi once again invited F4 to be their spokespeople. The only difference is that they will be appearing individually. Pepsi expresses: "In F4, Jerry is very cool, Zai Zai is a prince, Vanness is very active and Ken has a lot of character. Their fans are different and that's why we have put them in the commercials separately to allow them to attract different consumers and film different styles of commericials." F4's Meteor Garden is now being broadcasted in Thailand. F4's popularity has spread around Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia and America, and now it's Thailand's turn. Pepsi have sensed this and will promote the four to become Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand's spokespersons as well, releasing their cans in the respective countries. Last year, F4's commercial raked in 8 digit figures. Now that they are filming alone, their income will also reach $8-$10million. Pepsi said: " The individual commercials will give F4 more room for individuality and also more income." But, F4 drinking the same Pepsi will be pocketing money according to their 'popularity'. Jerry and Zai Zai will be on one level and Vanness and Ken on another. Fixed income: Jerry and Zai Zai: Tens of millions of dollars (NT) Vanness and Ken: NT$8-9 million Jerry and Zai Zai: Meet the Fans sessions: 4 times Each time: 6 digit figure Vanness and Ken: Meet the Fans session: 2 times Each time: 6 digit figure Translated by: Carolina Roboch

5-22-03 - Zai Zai caught a flu because of Vivian Hsu, Hua Shi's recently went to Yang Ming Shan for outdoor filming, the scene which Zai Zai was riding a bike with Vivian on the way to meet a client. That day there was a heavy downpour at Yang Ming Shan and both of them became very drenched, on top of that the little puppy was very incorperative, the scene which it was supposed to bite a shoe to a whole day to shoot. Vivian and Zai Zai both kept on laughing and once Zai Zai got home, he realized that he had already caught a slight flu. During this SARS period, director Wang Keyi joked, "We are not beaten by SARS but by a little puppy!" Translated by: Carolina Roboch

announce in My Myx
HONG KONG - The Rolling Stones and top tenor Jose Carreras will headline a four-week government-sponsored music festival to try to restore some glitz to SARS-battered Hong Kong, organizers said Wednesday.
Irish boy band Westlife, Latin rock guitarist Carlos Santana, British R&B singer Craig David, Taiwan pop sensation Jay Chou and boy band F4 , will also participate in the concert series titled "Hong Kong Harbor Fest."
"We thought we could all help Hong Kong recover by bringing some exciting, world class entertainment here," said James Thompson, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the event with the government.
Thompson said he hoped the event would attract tourists from North America, Europe and Japan and in turn create jobs.
Hong Kong's unemployment is at a record 8.7 percent.
An outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome between March and May dealt a heavy blow to the already struggling economy. The disease, which killed 299 people in the territory and sickened 1,755, prompted travel warnings and devastated tourism, hotel and other businesses.
"We are trying to put Hong Kong back on the map. That's the entire thrust of relaunch effort because Hong Kong really did fall down badly with SARS," Thompson said.
The festival will take place at the outdoor Tamar site along Hong Kong's waterfront between Oct. 15 and Nov. 9.
The whole festival is estimated to cost 130 million Hong Kong dollars (US$16.7 million).
The government has agreed to contribute HK$80 million (US$10.3 million) if half the tickets are sold, said Mike Rowse, director-general of Invest Hong Kong, a government body aimed at attracting overseas business.
The Stones will perform on Nov. 7 and 9, with top tickets priced at HK$2,000 (US$256) each. Carreras will be in Hong Kong on Oct. 20.
More than 200,000 tickets for 18 shows will be available for the entire festival and ticket sales will begin on Sept. 12.

ABS-CBN: Other networks not allowed to cover F4 visit Posted: 8:30 PM (Manila Time) | Sept. 06, 2003 By Marinel R. Cruz Inquirer News Service
THERE might not be a "Meteor" shower on local television. Inquirer Entertainment learned that other TV networks are banned from covering the arrival of the stars of "Meteor Garden," ABS-CBN's phenomenally popular chinovela, as the network makes sure it does an exclusive coverage of their Manila visit. Vanness Wu (Mei Zhuo) and Ken Zhu (Xi Men), members of the former pop quartet F4, or Flower 4, and Barbie Xu (San Cai) are scheduled to arrive on board two China Airlines flights from Taiwan on Sept. 11. Maloli Manalastas, ABS-CBN vice president for government, corporate affairs and public relations, confirmed that the network has the exclusive right to the coverage of the arrival of the Taiwanese stars. "Its true that we are not allowing any other network to cover the arrival," Manalastas told Inquirer Entertainment last Friday. "We are still discussing this with airport officials."
Vanness, Ken and Barbie, who will be with her sister Dee Xu, reportedly will be given a welcome fit for dignitaries, including use of the presidential lounge at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport's Centennial Terminal. Only the President and other top officials of the land are allowed to use NAIA's presidential lounge. Even Hollywood stars Lou Diamond Philips and Tia Carrere, who recently flew in to attend the 5th Makati Cinemanila International Film Festival, did not get to use the lounge. The Taiwanese stars are coming to Manila to perform in a one-night show called "The Event" on Sept. 13 at the Philsports (Ultra) Football Field in Pasig City. On Sept. 21, ABS-CBN will air not the concert itself but a two-hour special featuring the "Meteor Garden" stars. Kris Aquino will host the program. NAIA General Manager Edgar Manda told Inquirer Entertainment that the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) has requested him in writing for a "security cover" for the Taiwanese stars. Manda, however, refused to give details of the security measures that airport personnel would implement for the arrival of the Taiwanese stars. "(TECO officials) feel that, with F4's popularity among Filipinos, the crowds might get unruly during the arrival," said Manda. "They simply want to be sure of the group's safety. We will see what we can do about their request. We also don't want to compromise our own security measures." The Taiwanese celebrities reportedly will be using a different exit so that no other network, aside from ABS-CBN, could have access to them at the airport. It is also said that reporters and production crew members from stations other than ABS- CBN would not be granted entry passes for the arrival. "Meteor Garden" is shown weekdays on ABS-CBN. It also stars Jerry Yan as Dao Ming Shi, and Vic Zhuo as Hua Ze Lei. Ken, 24, was born in Taiwan but raised in Singapore. He was a captain waiter in a Japanese restaurant before the show's producers discovered him. Vanness, 24, was born in the US. He came to Taiwan to join a talent contest when the "Meteor Garden" producers asked him to audition. Barbie is also popular in Taiwan as a singer and TV host. She is Big S in ASOS, a singing duo, with her sister, who is known as Small S.

Ken rumoured to get married with his Singaporean girlfriend next year - afraid that Vanness will intervene
Yesterday, 1 of our readers called from Singapore to tell us about this shocking news. He said that F4's Ken Chu personally told his guardian in Singapore that he'll marry his Singaporean girlfriend Nicole next year. It is because another F4 member is interested in chasing Nicole. Therefore, Ken proposed to her to prevent problems in their relationship. As Ken work schedule is very packed this year, the wedding is scheduled to be held next year. In order not to affect his career, Ken decided on a low- key wedding. Therefore, not many people know about the wedding.
This person who revealed this infomation claimed to be a friend of Ken guardian's son. During the phone call, his tone was very definate. He even said that this Nicolewas Vanness's ex-girlfriend. A period of time after they broke up, this girl & Ken began to date. Ken will return to Singapore to visit Nicole whenever he's free. And Vanness, after breaking up with Nicole, became interested in Vivian, chased after her and invited her to write songs for his album.
That informer said Vanness & Vivian relationship has ended. After consideration, Vann decided that he & his ex-girlfriend is more suitable and hope to get back together with her. When Ken knew abt it, he feels that his relationship with Nicole is threatened. Therefore, Ken hope to get married early next year and has told this good news to his guardian.
Ken's manager denied When the reporter phoned F4's current manager Yao Yi Jun, she burst out laughing when she heard abt it. "What? Marry in Singapore? It's ridiculous, impossible" She said Ken does not have a girlfriend now, how to get married next year? She has not heard that Ken has a Singaporean girlfriend. She said Ken is a Taiwanese, but was sent to Singapore to study when he was young. He did have a guardian to look after him during his stay. When asked if Ken used to have a Singaporean girlfriend, she said Ken did have when he was schooling, but it was years ago. Ken only began his shouwbiz career in taiwan 2 years after returning from Singapore. He seldom return to Spore, mostly for work purposes. She finds this news very amusing. Currently, Ken is busy doing promotions for Kuang Ai Long Juan Feng & recording his solo album. He has no time to bother about these rumours.
