They really love Jerry By Foong Woei Wan
HUNDREDS of girls and women broke into an impromptu rendition of Jerry Yen's ballad I Really Really Love You at Changi Airport yesterday afternoon.
They were among the 500-strong crowd - mostly female fans from all across Asia, aged from 20s to 50s - who were there to welcome Yen, the most-loved member of the Taiwanese pop foursome F4.
Along with the odd boyfriend or passer-by, they were waiting behind barricades.
The 27-year-old megastar had flown in from Hong Kong to promote his Chinese New Year romantic comedy, Magic Kitchen, with his co-stars Maggie Q and Nicola Cheung.
When fans saw him at the baggage area at about 1.25pm, the singing stopped.
Then the screaming started.
Flashing his famous bashful, dimpled smile and wearing shades, he was rushed out of the fans' reach and into a waiting van by a dozen policemen - in under three minutes.
He was accompanied by a five-member entourage.
Many fans hopped into taxis - including at least 15 pre-booked maxicabs - to trail him to the Conrad Centennial Singapore, where he checked in for the night.
Fans like 32-year-old engineer Laurel Chen and her 26-year-old engineer friend Lisa Wang had come all the way from China just to catch sight of him here.
Some 30 fans here apparently had gone to Hong Kong to catch the same Singapore-bound flight as him, said a spokesman for the distributor, Shaw Organisation.
In the evening, Yen and his co-stars held an outdoor media conference at Junction 8 and attended the premiere of Magic Kitchen at Lido.
The actor-singer stars as a chef's assistant in his first film opposite Sammi Cheng and Andy Lau. The movie opens here next Thursday.
The stars left for Kuala Lumpur, the next stop of their promotional tour, today.
'We will follow him to Malaysia,' said an upbeat Chen.

Jerry Yan is a changed man. And for the better too. The exceedingly shy and quiet boy we knew has somehow metamorphosised into a ladies' man since we last saw him.
That was last January, when his boy band F4 was here for its second concert. (Note: Should be Feb) Then, Jerry - despite his immense popularity with the girls - was content to fade into the background, leaving his other F4 bandmates, Vic Zhou, Ken Zhu and Vanness Wu, to charm the media and banter with the fans.
But yesterday evening at an outdoor press conference (which fans could witness, behind barricades) to promote the romantic comedy Magic Kitchen, a solo Jerry teased, firted and dazzled the ladies, proving he could hold his own.
His co-stars Nicola Cheung and even the luscious Maggie Q were relegated to being merely wall flowers. The moment Jerry appeared, the 2,000-strong crowd at Junction 8's Open Plaza almost screamed down the marquee.
Never mind that he was an hour late.
They shrieked when he took off his black leather jacket and exposed his arms while rolling up his black turtle-neck sweater.
Even when he only went "er..." into the microphone, the fans screamed, drowning out whatever he wanted to say next. Jerry loved the attention all right - he was grinning from ear to ear, flashing his dimples throughout.
And only he could control the crowd. He put his finger on his lips. And we could all hear again.
Even his fans were pleasantly by the change in him. Ms Susan Poh, 29, account executive, had been at the airport to receive Jerry and even trailed his entourage all the way to the hotel. She said that a friendly Jerry was smiling the whole time. Ms Poh aded:"Jerry has become more cheerful and mature this time around, and he has learnt to take things in his stride. "Last time, he used to be too self-conscious, and put up a front because that was what he wanted to present to people. But now he's just being himself."
By his own admission, Jerry said of his change:"I've become a happier person now? My mentality has changed, I like interacting with crowds even more now." Whether or not he's telling the truth, at least his efforts bore fruit.
Despite bing very busy fielding questions from the media, Jerry seemed eager to please his fans. Such as when co-star Nicola commented on how shopping has become a "hazardous" activity for Jerry as he has to be protected by bodyguards whenever he goes.
A scribe then asked if Jerry minded this drawback of being a celebrity. His reply:"I don't particularly enjoy shopping. And anyway, the gifts that my fans give me are more than enough."
Delighted squeals followed.
When asked if he would ever date a fan, Jerry played it cool with "it all depends on fate? but I'm not totally against the idea".
Perhaps the man has indeed become older and wiser.
A victim of bad press because of his media-unsavvy ways, he points to his co-star, Andy Lau's admirable rapport with fans and media as something he aspires to achieve. He also readily admits to needing to improve his public relations. Judging by his performance last night, he's clearly making good progress.
To prepare for his first movie role as an assistant cook, Jerry had taken a few cookery lessons. He said:"I've learnt to prepare a few dishes, and I'm hoping to cook for my mum over the Chinese New Year." Clearly out to elicit more screams, Jerry then teased:"anyway, don't you think that it's very romantic for a guy to cook for a girl?"
Thre response was again, deafening.
But fans should be relieved, as Jerry hasn't had a chance to cook for a girl yet, or so he claims. "I haven't had a girlfriend for a long time,"he said, pouting.
Anyway, we all wanted to know: What's the most romantic thing he's done for a girl to date? The answer: Shouting "I Love You" in the middle of His Men Ding (Taipei's hippest hangout) whild out on a date with his then-girlfriend (his highschool sweetheart) on Valentine's Day.
There. Yet another perfect anecdote to charm the socks off his fans.
Even when he left the press conference to rush to the gala permiere of Magic Kitchen, Jerry couldn't resist flirting with his fans one last time. He made it a point to smile and wave from all angles, and finished up with a sexy pose

PALLY WITH PRESS 01/16/04 At ease now with his star status, F4 member Jerry Yen, here to promote his film Magic Kitchen, worked the crowd like a pro JERRY YEN has grown up. The 27-year-old - easily the most adored member of the popular Taiwanese pop group F4 - used to be extremely touchy about bad press. Two years ago, a then-overworked Yen infamously broke down before Taiwanese reporters. Faced with accusations of prima-donna behaviour, he pleaded his innocence by blurting: 'Let me be knocked down by a car!' Flying into Singapore on Wednesday to publicise his first film, Magic Kitchen, however, he was older, wiser and much more media-savvy. Displaying a disarming smiles and effortless cheeriness, he had 2,000 fans and 60 journalists eating out of his hand at a 40-minute outdoor press meet at Open Plaza at Junction 8 on Wednesday evening. Ever the affable superstar, he told the shrieking fans more than once: 'Seeing so many people here, I think I have become happier.' He has become a pro in working the crowd. He knew just when to serve up a bashful smile, a lop-sided smirk or a really playful look. When a reporter asked him what he would cook for his future girlfriend, he joked: 'You testing me? I haven't thought of it yet.' Garbed casually in a black turtleneck top and faded blue jeans, he stole the show, despite the presence of his two pretty co-stars, Vietnamese-American actress Maggie Q and Hong Kong actress Nicola Cheung. In the movie, too, he parlays his charm and looks to good use as a young assistant to a chef played by Sammi Cheng, the queen of Hong Kong romantic comedies. He also fights for her affection with her ex-boyfriend played by Heavenly King Andy Lau. Banking on the popularity of Yen, Cheng and Lau, the film looks destined to clean up at the box office in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan this Chinese New Year. It opens here next Thursday. Speaking in Taiwanese-accented Mandarin at the press meet, Yen said the toughest thing in his three years in showbiz was learning 'how to conduct myself in society'. He added that he learnt a lot from pros like Lau. Calling Lau by his Cantonese nickname, he said: 'Wah Chai knows how to create a happy atmosphere on the set.' He said he would like to work with Cheng again, because 'she's like a little girl' and is 'a very nice person'. Maybe they can make a movie where 'I am knocked down by a car', he quipped, repeating his trademark statement. Cries of dismay rose from the sea of people. He laughed. CHASED BY A CONVERTIBLE ARRIVING in Singapore on Wednesday afternoon, he had been chased from Changi Airport to the Conrad Centennial Singapore by fans in a fleet of 15 maxicabs, as well as other cabs and a Mercedes convertible. When an assistant alerted him to the convertible tailing him, he was said to have replied simply, pi la (rubbish). Then, he saw it. Impressed, he waved back at the girls in the car. Later, after asking about the costs of car ownership in Singapore, he was said to have exclaimed: 'Heavens. I feel so poor.' He had to be kidding. Born Liao Yang-cheng in Taoyuan, a county south of Taipei, he was indeed poor then. He and his elder sister were brought up by his widowed mother. Growing up, he had to take on odd jobs to supplement the family income. Graduating from high school, he served in the military before moving on to modelling. As recently as 2000, he had to sleep in a room with a hole in the ceiling created by an earthquake in 1999. But everything changed overnight in 2001, when producer Angie Chai cast him and three other unknowns - Ken Chu, Vanness Wu and Vic Chou - in Meteor Garden, an idol drama adapted from a cult Japanese comic book series. The four came to be known as the acting and singing quartet F4. Their first album, Meteor Rain, was released in the same year and sold four million copies across Asia. Yen, in the leading role of Daoming Si, a romantic alpha male who courts a spunky schoolgirl played by Barbie Hsu, became dream boyfriend to millions of female fans. Last year, he was one of the top-earning Taiwanese stars alongside Jay Chou and Elva Hsiao. He was also the best paid among the F4 members, bringing home NT$40 million (about S$2 million). Two months back, thanks to F4's popularity in the Philippines and the rest of South-east Asia, he even had the chance to meet Philippine President Gloria Arroyo. Still in disbelief, he recalled: 'It was so strange to go to a country and meet its president. But it gave us the motivation to do better and work harder.' In fact, one could say that he is his own harshest critic. Only too conscious that critics think he is all looks and no talent, he once said: 'My singing is slightly better than an animal's.' Asked to rate his acting in his film debut, he gave himself 100 marks. Then he added: 'But for me, the total is 1,000 marks.' As for rumours that F4 were going their separate ways for good, he said they had plans to make a movie together. But he declined to divulge more, saying that they were still in talks and that they would have equal screen time in the film. Eager to emphasise that they were still united as a team, he said that they had just watched Vanness' film Star Runner together. 'It's very good. His gongfu is very good and his kissing scenes are excellent,' he gushed. 'And Vic's album is out. It's very good. I hope that everyone supports him,' he said. Yen himself has been recording his solo album under the tutelage of Singapore producer Peter Lee Shih Shiong since late last year. It is due out in March. While success is sweet, it comes with a hefty price too. He has very little privacy left. He dated an older woman 'for four to five years' during his pre-fame days, but admitted that he has not had a chance to date since then. So how popular is he? His co-star Cheung noted that when he was in Hong Kong making Magic Kitchen in September last year, he hardly went out for fear of being mobbed. 'He couldn't go out to buy clothes. He couldn't go shopping,' she said. These days, however, Yen seems to wear his fame reasonably well. 'I don't like shopping. People give me so many presents, there's enough for me to wear,' he said, smiling. Source: Life, January 15 '04 straitstimes.asia1.com.sg Article written by: Foong Woei Wen

Magic Kitchen Rating(out of 5): * * ½ (Golden Screen Cinemas) Starring: Sammi Cheng, Jerry Yan, Nicola Cheung, Maggi Q, Andy Lau, Michael Wong, Anthony Wong and Daniel Wu. It is time again for Hong Kong filmmakers to whip up another one of their romantic comedies for the coming Lunar New Year, and they do not fail to deliver. In this film directed by Lee Chi Ngai, Sammi Cheng takes the lead (again) as a woman who just can’t find true love. GIRLS' NIGHT OUT...Yau (Cheng, centre) and her gal pals take a break from painting the town red. This romantic thingytail has an ex-boyfriend, admirer, very *friendly* persontish girlfriends and a young ciku thrown into the mix. Too bad the main ingredient of a strong male lead is missing from this concoction. Jerry Yan, one-fourth of the popular but defunct boyband F4, makes a mediocre match for Cheng’s Yau. However, the film is palatable enough for the audience, thanks to the chemistry between Cheng and Andy Lau who plays her ex. With a liberal dose of narration throughout the film, Yau tells us about her past: her mother’s cooking skills, the family’s curse (all female descendants will become chefs and fail in love), how she eventually becomes a chef and her relationship with Chuen (Lau). Currently, she owns a restaurant and is assisted by the quiet and stoned-looking Hall (Yan). Yau has been invited to take part in a cooking competition called “King Chef” in Japan, a TV programme similar to “Iron Chef” where two chefs are pitted against each other in a cooking competition. It’s a test of creativity and skill because competitors will have to create dishes with the day’s main ingredient, which will only be revealed at the start of the competition. Yau isn’t confident in her culinary skills (she copies Mom’s recipes) and has second thoughts about the competition but Hall pushes her to reconsider. LOVEBIRDS...Chuen (Lau, left) and May (Maggi Q) get cosy. Things take a romantic turn when Yau bumps into her old flame Chuen, and gets all flustered, but she soon finds out that he’s seeing May (Maggi Q), who happens to be one of her close friends. As she secretively pines for Yau, her girlfriends (including May) try to get her to meet men by frequenting bars and clubs. And all this while, her young assistant Hall admires her from afar. It goes without saying that the film is a Cheng-Yan starrer. Unfortunately, the romance of an older woman-younger man does not work because the chemistry between them is non-existent. Even the melodramatic ending the film has does not help the lame romance. It’s actually more enjoyable to see the strained relationship between Yau and Chuen. Singer-turned-actor Yan may be a dreamboat to his scores of adoring female fans but when it comes down to holding his own opposite Cheng, that brooding charm of his loses its appeal. The boy lacks screen presence and that is painfully obvious when paired with a strong lead like Cheng. And if the filmmakers are banking on his good looks to carry the role, then they should have thought twice about wrapping his head with a white dishtowel (a more stylish chef hat?) in every other scene. FASHION (NON)SENSE...'I grabbed this one off the nearest towel rack. Doesn't it look good on me?' There are better leading man material in the film such as Michael Wong and Daniel Wu but they only appear in token roles. That’s sad because either one of these actors could have easily made a better contender for Yau’s affections. Actually, all other relationships Yau has are more interesting than the main romance. Even the friendship she develops with an aspiring writer (played by Anthony Wong) fares better. But all is not lost because Cheng shines in her role as the kind-hearted Yau. We can easily symphatise with her not only because she’s hapless in love but also because she’s sweet, vulnerable and obliging. Also, the flick takes a welcome respite from the usual slapstick comedy and chooses to bank its humour on the dialogue instead. The film addresses the idea that one’s true love is right under one’s nose. You can look far and wide for that special person but eventually you’ll find that the person has always been right in front of you. It’s sad that everything in this film more or less works except for the core relationship. Magic Kitchen seems to have got its side elements right but is weakened by its main “dish”, a misfortune you don’t want to repeat, especially during the coming CNY reunion dinner. New Jerry, you're such a tease By Wendy Teo JERRY Yan is a changed man. And for the better too. Even when he left the press conference to rush to the gala premiere of Magic Kitchen, Jerry couldn't resist flirting with his fans one last time. He made it a point to smile and wave from all angles, and finished up with a sexy pose, no less! Give the man full marks for trying. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Working his magic IN Magic Kitchen, Jerry plays an assistant cook, Xiao Ke, to a private kitchen owner, Mu Rong You (Sammi Cheng). He is secretly in love with You, who can't get over her ex-boyfriend, Chang You (Andy Lau). Xiao Ke wants You to join a culinary competition in Japan, but You is hesitant. It turns out that she's not the great cook that everyone thinks she is. You is also under a family curse that ruins her love life if she ever excels in cooking. Magic Kitchen opens on Jan 22. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nothing's gonna stop her from seeing Jerry By Chang May Choon SHE is wheelchair-bound and speaks not a word of Mandarin. But that didn't stop Miss Haily Mai, a 24-year-old Vietnamese living in Australia, from flying into Singapore to see her Taiwanese idol, Jerry Yan. 'He's the first star I wanted to see up close and personal,' she told The New Paper. Miss Mai is not alone in her adulation. Also gathered at Junction 8's Open Plaza yesterday were dozens of regional fans who had flown in from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philipines, Hong Kong and Korea. Miss Mai, an administrative executive in an insurance company, said she first discovered Jerry three months ago, when a friend showed her an F4 concert VCD. Immediately smitten with his dimpled smile and handsome good looks, she went out to buy his signature drama, Meteor Garden. The hit drama, about a bratty rich boy who changes his ways for a feisty but poor girl, created superstars out of F4. 'I didn't understand Mandarin, but I'd just see the pictures and then get the translation off the Internet,' said Miss Mai, who was born disabled. IN THE FLESH Once she heard that Jerry was coming to Singapore, she decided to fly here with her younger brother and a university friend to see him in the flesh. She forked out A$3,180 ($4,190) for a seven-day holiday for herself and her brother, and plans to lug home every memorabilia with Jerry's face on it. On seeing her idol, she said: 'It's fantastic! He's very handsome and friendly. 'I'm disappointed I can't get his autograph, but I'm happy I got his red packets (a movie premium).' Also spotted at Junction 8 was Miss Maylyn Dy, 39, a political consultant from Manila. She said she extended her holiday here with her husband, just so that she can catch a glimpse of Jerry. The star, who made a courtesy call at Malacanang Palace in Manila last November where he met Philippine President Gloria Arroyo, has a huge following in the Philippines, where Meteor Garden is aired. Miss Dy said she loved the soap opera so much that she even engaged a Chinese tutor to teach her Mandarin once a week, three hours each time. 'I want to understand everything he (Jerry) says,' she said. How's that for idol worship? Visit this link newpaper.asia1.com.sg/hey/story/0,4136,48146,00.html?

TRANSCRIPT : Jerry on ent.tom online chat
LinBai: Hello everybody! please wait for a moment, JErry will appear soon! LinBai: Every online friends, welcome to tom.com interview regarding Magic Kitchen..we are now in the third interview...long awaited jerry is finally here..how are you...(ni hao) J: Ni HAO ( i guess you guys should know what is NI HAO..it is like How are you!)
L: I notice that you caught a cold. are you alright? J: All right. was not careful..so i caught this cold.
L: catching a cold is still okay..now on the web people are discussing about your incident in the airport where you hurt yourself? J: Still okay..hope that you all be careful, I am most worried about some women getting hurt.
L: We are most concerned is you, not getting hurt yourself. let's take a look at online friends' questions...(there are many online nicknames...I will just call them O.F =online friends) O.F asked, can you describe your performance in MK, do you like your character? J: similar to him a little bit personality wise, so, when i acted itout it felt like myself. Still fine, by Sammi's side, I help her, had some feelings of "crush" on her.
L: in the past, did you have these feelings before? J: Yes.
L: Come to think of it, this movie is Jerry's first movie performance, O.F asks first time filming a movie is it interesting? what is the difference with acting in a tv series? J: Because in the movie, the timeline is shorter. So, won't be stuck in the same place for long. Filming hours are long, sometimes lack of sleep, because filming in a movie time is more stable..it is easier to have sufficient sleep, so, a person will be more able to perform better, this is how movies are better.
L: Many people would think a movie will pose more difficulties, seems that Jerry thinks it is more relaxing. J: Not exactly relaxing. It is just that I feel that I had more energy mentally and physically to focus on the movie..Meteor Garden took about half a year to film...during that half a year, we filmed from morning to night, sometimes one day..sleep only for three hours...sometimes cannot control myself. Movies film only for one-two months, in that kind of situation..i won't feel as pressured.
L: Jerry fans is more interested. Before you came in here, we intervied Lee director. Lee Director has high hopes for you, he regards you as having high acting talent, next time..can act in many different characters, many O.Fs wants to know if you have any expectations in your acting career development? J: Hope to try out many different characters. because want to see how far I can go. of course, i am still learning the ropes.
L: O.F asks, jerry when can you be an King in Acting (meaning when he can reach the peak..achieve the highest recognition in acting) J: Actually i don't dare say. I feel that in this business, there are many talented people. I just want to try my best in acting my characters that is already fine..King in Acting..is still far away.
L: At least right now this question came a little too soon. don't worry..take it slow. It is good that he asked you this question after you released your first movie, if he asked you this before your movie about becoming a king in acting..that would be scary. O.F asks..when will you come up with your second movie? what kind of material? J: when is still not sure, but right now there are a couple of good scripts, my company is still examining them.
L: Convey an O.F's greetings, Jerry's fan said, Jerry, eventhough time has passed for sometime, but i still want to wish you a happy birthday. Yesterday, in the airport somebody said you were hurt, many people cried was sad. so, right here i will always support you, i believe that this movie will be especially successful. Yesterday after you left, many people were crying there, we all did not know what happened in shanghai. in reality, it is your movie fans feeling sad over there. J: They were very worried about me, I was also very worried for them. I am still a very healthy person, yesterday there were many young girls and also older ones there, I am more concerned about them. J: Jerry don't worry, those young girls was swept off emotionally by this young man' handsome-ness..that kind of strong impact is unimaginable. Your birthday is special, we want to know how you celebrated your birthday. J: This year i was at home to accompany my mom. last year, i was workng most of the time outside, had relatively lesser time to accompany my mom, this year I want to spend this special day at home with my mom.
L: O.F asks, Jerry's MK this time would you come to promote in Beijing? Many fans are waiting for you. J: I want to go to many places too, because right now I am recording my album, I don't know if i will have the opportunity to go there, i will also need to see my itenary for the remaining trip.
L: O.F asks, representing Shanghai fans welcomes you to come here, wants to ask do you like this city, shanghai? J: I want to understand this place better, because i do not have the chance to look around yet, most of the time i will be in the hotel, also..last time's concert, i don't have much memories. But, i have heard many good descriptions about Shanghai, so, i hope that if i get the opportunity, i would want to take a look around.

L: At least you know the hotels well and has good impressions on them. This time our interview is also held in this JinMao hotel (not sure hotel's name) . O.F asks, will you come to singapore? J: I will go to singapore.

L: this o.f can look forward to that. O.F asks, he is wondering if you are considering to come to mainland to develop your career? L: What counts as developing my career here? For e.g when i release my albums, i will hold some solo concerts, can these be counted as development? L: His/her meaning is to have more chances to see you, plus no only for you to familiarize not only with hotels in beijing n shanghai..also familiarize yourself with the streets and pubs here etc etc. J: Hope that will have more time here, to visit different cities in mainland, different cultures, different places different people..the feeling is very good, hope that i will have more chances to come here. Besides these, i hope thru my album i can come here.
L: O.F asks, can you talk about your new album. J: I have recorded about 4-5 songs for the album, almost half of it now. I am very pleased with the songs that I have currently. Because I have waited for these songs for more or less a year, from 100 over songs, I have chosen them. I like them alot personally. In the movie, one of my songs is in there too. Hopefully I can gather your opinions about the song after listening to it.
L: It's good that you remind us, if not many friends would have missed it. In MK, what is the title of your song? J: I don't know if the title of the song will change later.
L: O.F asks, what is your biggest reward and experience from filming this movie? J: The biggest reward must be is to able to know such a great person like Sammi with better acting talents than I. Of course, I need to be grateful because they have given me this chnce to work together. From them, I have observed the way they dealt with situations, e.g Sammi at filming location will make the atmosphere very relaxed, Sammi has always been the role model for newbies. Sammi and I had many acting scenes together, i feel that she is a special artist, very accomodating, easy to work with. This is what surprised me. I felt that she might be a pretentious or something like that. Our cooperation this time actually we chat about many personal stuff off-camera. Sammi is actually very unique, if not...she won't be as popular as she is now. J: speaking about popularity, you are also popular. Next O.F asks, can you tell us during filming what are your specially happy moments..can you share with us? J: Getting to know Sammi and Andy makes me really happy. Previously i was missing for a while, to unruffle myself, during filming when i see many fans because i was missing for a while, to come out suddenly was kind of scary.
L: O.F says, i feel that you are very suitable to film an ancient-costume film, if you act as a warrior, even without makeup you are still able to look like it. J: I want to wear ancient clothes too, I feel that it is fun to be able to. very special. But right now the scripts I received did not include any of these, but in the future i will try out.
L: Today many online friends came nationwide and overseas..news will definitely spread far and wide overnight. Online friends said that they will book the entire Beijing cinema to watch your movie, and produced a special promotion card, that's why believe that your movie will be a sell-out in Beijing. J: I don't know how far is it from here to Beijing. I know that friends (his fans) booked the entire cinema..i am very happy about that. If it is not to due to all these publicity, I hope to visit every place that they have this kind of event. i don't know if time will permit me though.
L:Today in Shanghai..you already have a little cold, we don't want turbulence to strike Shanghai..the next online friend, said that do you feel lots of pressure working with so many hot shots in your first movie? J: first yes..because we were not close, after all, they are big stars..so, lots of pressure. But, after meeting them..i feel that have been thinking too much..Andy such a big star but after getting to know them you feel more and more that he is very gentlemen..good for us to follow their example.
L: That why this movie opportunity, lets you learn many things J:Yes.
L: Another online friend, jerry do you know that many stars bought houses and started restaurants in shanghai..do you have such plans? J: Actually i have thought of that before have a property and start business...I don't mind whether it earns a profit or not but i hope to have a place...my friends are supportive of me..if i have a store, if there's any event we can go there...this location will belong to me and it is easier to control. But, at the moment, i am still thinking..nobody approached me to realize my dreams yet.
L: It is easy for us to locate sponsors, like Shanghai's airport, airport is very easy really..because they rather have this store than have their place ruined. O.F asks, after filming this culinary movie, did you improve your culinary skills? What are your specialty dishes? J: Normally I know how to fry egg, steak too..know some easy dishes Actualy i am quite interested to make dishes..have thought about cooking for my future girlfriend. because i feel that doing this is quite romantic, maybe because i don't know how to sweet-talk but cooking is still manageable for me.
L: This is definitely very romantic. O.F asks, what kind of girlfriends are you looking for? J: It is a girl with arms and legs with a face (with the five senses on her face) (HE WAS JOKING!haha) this topic has been asked so many times, this kind of things depend on feelings..feelings are very important, need to communicate, and able to accompany my mother with me.
L: I understand your meaning from what you said. Everybody likes to ask you this question. but this is pointless. hopefully everybody will try to understand no to ask this question anymore. O.f asks, if you did not enter showbiz, what would you be doing now? J: From about 5th grade, I have started working from waiter, bartender, at that time it was kind of fun. I remember at that time my sister and I would go to work together. Before coming into showbiz, I was a model, at the same time working at a bar, at that time too i was thinking about starting a store with a friend. because i know how to make thingytail drinks, has certain familiarity with this restaurant business, i think this is one of the careers that I know most about.
continue...
L: So, making meals for girlfriend is of course romantic, if you mix thingytail drinks for her too that must be very good. J: Yes.
L: O.F asks if you go online, what do you do online? J: I am okay, because I am quite busy, not much time to go online, but there are many friends(fans) that writes messages to me online, but i seldom see them online. for instance, I have this idea now. hope that i can set up a club for my supporters, such as having my own website, because i feel that there are many friends who supports me through many different websites. If there are some things that I want to tell, there would be too many sites for me to go to. So, I hope to have my own website. All my recent news would be posted there. I am not very computer literate. I want to find a professional to help me with this matter. I also hope to share my feelings my photos with everybody on the website. Not a monetary transaction at all. This is my current view. Because I have not met a suitable person that i can put my trust in. I know that sometimes there are some transactions on the web, i am afraid if somebody takes advantage of this, therefore i am still looking for a suitable candidate. I know some people from different fan groups now but I am still observing to see if they are really reliable, really want to work something out, and will not do something negative like steal money etc. I hope that this project will be carried out soon because then i will have a medium to share with everybody. And everybody will not be dependent on the tv, newspapers to know how i am doing. Moreover, I have taken many pictures myself I hope to share with everybody.
L: We look forward to this kind of professional website. O.F asks..recently any communication between F4 members? J: Four of us gathered together in Taiwan recently (Vanness's premiere) e.g I finished filming in HK, Zai Zai released his album, hope that everybody can also support Zai Zai, becase i hope that four of us can support each other, this kind of feeling is very good.
L: O.F asks, did you play basketball recently? J: Yes. Later at night i will play basketball with my friends. Because i can use this sport as a form of tension release, in this line i am losing contact with my normal friends, so through this activity i am able to bond with them..for instance i will sometimes play with Zai Zai once a month.
L: An O.F said that your basketball skill is better than Jay Chou. J: Actually he is better, very styllish, has tricks, when i play basketball it is very much like my personality...we always play basketball together....but because he looks very stylish when he plays basketball ...we are those kind that plays it safe...i feel that he plays better. The last time during the pepsi event i won't because he let me.
LinBAi: Now we have "Yanchengxu.net" 's huge cake to celebrate your new movie hope that it will have great sales....let us end with cutting cake.. J: Thank you everybody. Thank you

F4¡¦s contracts ending, ZZ signs for 3yrs more Mother of idol dramas, Angie Chai, successfully pushed F4 towards international. This year, the issue that is most paid attention to is F4¡¦s contracts. Yesterday, when Angie Chai accepted an interview, she confirmed that at the present are talking about continuing their contracts. Among the four, Zai Zai and Angie Chai have already agreed to extend the contract for 3 more years. He is the first out of the four to continue his contract. For the past year F4 has gone solo. They have developed their own individual charm in their careers. What follows afterwards is the issue of continuing their contracts. According to what is known, when Angie Chai was filming ¡§Meteor Garden,¡¨ besides Ken Zhu belonging Ge Fu Hong, in succession are Zai Zai, Bao Long and Vanness signing varying 3-year contracts. Going through Angie¡¦s control shot to fame becoming the most popular idol group and also helping Angie earn millions. Today, the three¡¦s contracts are coming to an end successively. Will F4 continue their contracts or disband? This has become the focal point. In connection with F4¡¦s new contracts, Angie verified that Yao Yi Jun, the person in charge of the agent, is handling this. She said, ¡§Last year I turned over the agency department to Yao Yi Jun to be in charge of. This has created rumors saying that I have sold F4. Actually this is not the case. My purpose is to hope that the company and agent department can be independent so that the talented artists won¡¦t be affected by the company¡¦s system. The agent department has the power to evaluate the most favorable performance opportunities and rewards for the artists. They will not be limited by the company system. Even if the company¡¦s dramas, if reward or drama share can¡¦t compare with the outside world invitations, the artist can still say no.¡¨ Angie said that her independent agent department¡¦s method isn¡¦t seen much inlands, but that is why it has created many spaces for profit. F4¡¦s contracts are coming to an end one after another. Angie has let Yao Yi Jun take charge of talking to each member. Zai Zai has already extended his contract with the company for another 3 years. Yao Yi Jun has already confirmed this yesterday. But she also said, ¡§The 4 of them all signed at different times. Ken and Ge Jie¡¦s contract at that time when signing was very long so they don¡¦t have to discuss. Bao Long and Vanness¡¦ still has some time. Everyone doesn¡¦t need to be this worried.¡¨ This New Year, besides the issue of the continuation F4¡¦s contracts, Angie¡¦s also is planning to film a 200 hour drama. She expressed that in the past year she only filmed 20-hour drama ¡§Love Storm.¡¨ This year she will be cooperating with China Hu Nan Television and Dong Sen Television. With Taiwan and China both broadcasting, at the least is 200 hours of filming. During the first half of the year she¡¦ll need to film 160 hours, including ¡§God Mars,¡¨ ¡§Evil Girl¡¦s Kiss¡¨ and ¡§Little Mama¡¦s Sky.¡¨ Source: Xing Bao Translated by Amy of f4ever.azn.nu
