His income closely follows Jerry, but everyone thinks he won big time, no need to do training and still rakes in big bucks! Vanness has gone for more of the sunny appeal, being conservative about what he reveals. But when he saw Jerry's muscles, he was taken back: "What? You've been training in hiding, not bad ah..." Since going solo, the four are still immensely popular, and now might proceed to going to a Pepsi Superstar tour activity in Thailand and other countries. Their future achievements will depend on their own performance!- posted by Red
2 August 2003 ZZ + Ken Fall for Same Girl?
Always has been labelled brother between ZZ & Ken lately has been rumored to be fighting over a girl. Both of them have fallen for the female supporting actress, Hsu Weilun and not Vivien. Looks like Vivien's rumored bf Vanness can be relieved after hearing this.
Currently shooting for LOVE STORM's lead actress Vivian Hsu was rumored to be link to Vanness & Jay Chow which was a complicated triangle affair and this time working with ZZ & Ken on their new drama, her company is already prepared for any rumors. Lately the rumor was that ZZ & Ken has fought over a girl but what was surprising was that the girl was not Vivian but an unknown supporting actress in the drama, Hsu Weilun. She's the gf of another pop-idol boygroup WEWE, Lee Wei's gf.

Which S'pore couple looks like the stars? By Chang May Choon
NO, Valentine's Day is not here again. Neither are we remaking a Singapore version of Meteor Garden.
Though that might be a good idea going by the unbridled, hot-blooded response to the Meteor Graden II contest.
The New Paper offered a pair of custom-made rings worth $800 to a couple who posed like Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai in the Taiwanese drama.
The look-alike contest saw couples going the extra mile to replicate the four 'classic' poses, right down to details such as wearing a choker or getting the backdrop right.
Some contestants bowled us over with their resemblance to the leading couple played by Jerry Yan and Barbie Hsu. One guy had Jerry's pout while a girl had Barbie's smile.
However, to those who sent us mere photos without imitating the poses: Sorry, it takes much more effort to win the coveted rings.
Here, we present three of the best entries.
We have left out Classic pose 1 because there were no good entries.

Jerry and Angie Hugged
The disputes between Jerry and his manager, Angie Chai, had been resolved with a hug. At the backstage of the HK concert, the 2 of them hugged, and this action refuted all the past rumors regarding the bad blood between them, and Chai also promised Jerry that she'll make adjustments to his next year's workload so that he won't be too tired.
Also, come tomorrow, MG2 will have a happy ending - Jerry proposed to Da S, you3 qing2 ren2 zhong1 cheng2 juan4 shu3.
Previously, due to being overworked, and add that to lots of bad press, Jerry's mood was greatly affected and he held a press conference in which he cried several times, and he expressed that he hope everyone can stop misunderstanding him. This press conference also brought out the dissatisfaction Jerry had towards his manager, Angie Chai, and after which, rumors about the 2 of them have been flying all around.
Time has passed, and Jerry and Chai have resolved their disputes. Jerry's manager, Zheng Maoliang expressed: "In actual fact, the previous rumors about the 2 of them having disputes are really stupid. The 2 of them have never had any problems with each other. It's just simply Jerry voicing out some of his dissatisfaction regarding his workload." At the HK concerts, how the 2 of them are getting along is getting along was a great concern of the HK media, but during one of the concerts, Jerry openly thanked Chai for her ti2 ba2 and care. And the 2 of them even hugged at the backstage after the concert ended. This proved that the 2 of them have resolved all the disputes between them and everything is fine again.
And Chai also understands that there's problems with this year's workload arrangement, and she promised that there'll be improvements next year. She'll reduce Jerry's workload so that he'll have time to rest.
After finishing the HK concerts, F4 will return to TW today, and their management company also understand that the boys have been working very hard, hence they decided to give F4 a day off. F4 will rest on Christmas Eve and get back to work one day later. Other than doing the promotions for their new album, F4 also has to prepare for the new year countdown party at Tao Yuan.
The four of them have decided to spend this precious day off with their families. Vanness' parents will return to TW with him after watching the HK concerts, and they'll spend the new year together with him.
MG2 will broadcast its final episode on 25th Dec. In the ending, DMS will propose to SC in Spain and the scene is simply breathtakingly romantic. As for the much-discussed sequel to MG2, Jerry said: "Focus on the story about their sons and daughters then. I'm quite interested in knowing which people will act as our descendants!" But during the filming of the ending scene, a funny thing happened. It turned out that during the film break before the scene, the other F3 purposely pulled Da S to one side and helped her put on lots of red lipstick. Jerry was totally unaware of this and when the camera rolled, he immediately kissed Da S, and till the director shouted: "Cut" and the 2 of them pulled away, everyone at the scene witnessed the you2 you2 liang4 liang4 lips of Jerry and all laughed like crazy. Only then did Jerry realised that he's been tricked.

Bata man o matanda, lalaki man o babae.

Story #2: Busy with his recording, Jerry, in one instance, called Barbie to join him in the recording studio. He teasingly told her that he needed inspiration. The recording staff of course were excited. Jerry said that if Barbie had no ride, he’ll ask someone to pick her up.
Story #3: Jerry went back to Taiwan from HK and China after his PEPSI commercial right? Just two weeks ago, Ate and her boyfriend went to watch ASOS perform again in one of the clubs they frequent. And guess who came to visit Barbie? No less than Jerry himself. Ate thought that Ken and Vic were coming too but no, it was only Jerry until the show ended. He even assisted her in going down the stage. In intimate lounges like that, people don’t normally make such a big fuss when they see stars there because according to Ate, the crowd is usually from the A-B crowd. Ate said that Barbie is really misunderstood by the media. She says that if one gets to know Barbie, she’s really a warm person. In all the shows that Ate and her boyfriend have watched, Barbie makes it a point to come down from the stage and make the rounds in thanking the people who’re watching. She even said in her spiels that she’s happy that the people appreciate her music even if it’s more of rock rather than the mellow sounds.
(If you noticed, i started with story #2. That's because there's story #1 which i have to keep to myself first. Pa-intriga daw ba?! Hehe. Hindi kasi ipapaalam ko muna kung puwedeng i-post. Siyempre malawak ang internet. Napaka-public. Pag may go signal na 'ko, i'll post it. So far naman masaya na tayo sa mga stories above di ba?) Haaay, Jerry & Barbie for life

JERRY & BARBIE Here I am again with more stories about Jerry and Barbie. I will have to post the whole thing in separate parts because this is quite long. I had to organize the stories according to events so that it'll be easier for all of us to understand what happened and what is still happening with Jerry, Barbie and a little bit about Ken, Vic and Vanness.
My friend was able to talk to “Ate” last week. Remember "Ate"?... the one who’s been working in Taiwan for more than a decade now and the source of info regarding Jerry and Barbie because she’s a big fan of the two. At first, she only admired Barbie, but after she met the two in the shooting of MG back in 2001, she vowed to support the two. This time, my friend was able to squeeze out from Ate so many more stories about our faves. She had already been attending some of the filming days of J&B way back in MG1. She also makes it a point to go to their live shows like mall tours and stuff. She also goes to Barbie’s gigs with her band in bars and lounges.
Ate said that recently, Jerry appeared on the cover of a magazine. Ate sent her copy to her sister in the Philippines, thinking that she’ll still be able to buy a copy for herself but unfortunately, all the mags were sold out! That’s how popular he is.
Anyway, here’s a hodge-podge of everything that Ate shared about Jerry and Barbie…based from what she herself had witnessed, from her collection of videos of F4 and Barbie which were shown in Taiwan, and from other sources she had talked to:
-in one of the first mall tours of F4 for MG1, Barbie was not able to attend due to other commitments but that didn’t dampen the spirit of so many people who went to the mall to meet the F4. At that time, only Ken and Vanness were very confident in facing the mammoth crowd. Vic and Jerry were so overwhelmed that the former hid at first at the backstage. Jerry was deemed aloof at first, with the people not knowing that he was actually very nervous and scared at that time. But when it was his turn to speak and greet the fans, he explained to them that he was very happy to see them but they should be patient with him because he’s really not used to getting so much attention from so many people. At that time, MG1 has only been on air for 2 weeks so they were all surprised at the near pandemonium they created in the mall.
MG1
(from the behind-the-scenes/NG scenes/special scenes shown in Taiwan; others are from news reports)
-There was a scene in MG1 where the 4 guys were eating with Shan Cai. After the scene had been cut, the guys bought burgers from McDonald’s. Vanness bought 4 while Ken and Vic had 1 each. But Jerry bought 6! Barbie only got a salad for herself. Barbie had not finished eating yet when the director called the cast for a short briefing of the next scene. When she returned, she found her salad gone. She knew who ate it. It was Jerry again! When she asked him why he ate it, Jerry denied eating it and pointed to one of the crew. But the crew was quick to point back to Jerry. With a sheepish smile, he admitted to the “crime” (hehe) and he and Barbie just laughed about it. (Jerry has such an enormous appetite!)
-Many fans rejoiced when they learned that Barbie and Blue are not together anymore. According to Ate, it is true that Blue would often visit the filming of MG. In the meteor shower scene in episode 12, it was said that Blue requested some changes in the shooting of the kissing scene because the director originally wanted many close-up shots of the intimate scene. But Blue complained. The staff said that part of Blue’s jealousy could’ve stemmed from seeing Barbie and Jerry playing around (making fun of each other) when he arrived. Jerry didn’t appreciate the interference of Blue and neither did Barbie. He told Barbie that Blue should just leave and not watch if the scene will just affect him. Barbie confronted Blue and said that he should allow her to do whatever the director says because she and Jerry are both there as actors/professionals. But because of this incident with Blue, Jerry has become more careful with his scenes with Barbie. In episode 17 where DMS chased after SC who rode the bus with Ya Men, SC was supposed to go down the bus and run towards DMS. After they embrace, they were supposed to share a kiss. Jerry requested the director not to include the kissing scene anymore so as to avoid any complaints from Barbie’s boyfriend. Barbie told Blue about Jerry’s decision and Blue said that he didn’t complain but Barbie pointed out that he’s always been reacting that’s why Jerry saw it fit not to include the kiss anymore.
-Barbie’s mom didn’t like Blue either, because at one time, she called Blue and asked for her daughter’s whereabouts. She said that Barbie hasn’t been answering her cellphone. Blue was said to have snapped at the mother and said that she should just call Jerry because Barbie’s with him always. Barbie’s mother didn’t like his tone and this kind of statement coming from the boyfriend of her daughter. In one interview, she was asked to comment about the F4 and who she seems is the best boyfriend-material for Barbie. Vic, she said, is a friend of Barbie’s. She thinks Vic’s too young to be paired with her older daughter but would like it if paired with Xiao S. The mother sees Vanness as not ready yet for serious relationships. Ken, on the other hand is too mysterious for her. Jerry is her choice for Barbie. She knows that Jerry is the type of guy who loves his mother more than himself. Therefore, she knows he’ll be able to take care of Barbie. She knew this because there was one instance when she visited on the set and Jerry approached her to exchange stories with her. Barbie’s mom appreciated Jerry’s openness about his life. As for Jerry’s mom, there was one interview where she commented that Barbie would be good for his son because she can understand the moods of Jerry.
-Jerry said that at first, he was intimidated with Barbie because she’s really frank. There was even a time when Barbie asked the wardrobe assistant why they had to dress up Jerry in such fashion (check out his outfits in early episodes). The assistant said that the role calls for flashy clothes while his hair had to look like the comic character.
-In an interview with Barbie, she admitted that her first crush among the F4 was Vanness Wu because he was always upbeat and had many stories to tell.
-From the taping of her entertainment show, Barbie would sometimes go straight to her MG taping. Since her wardrobe and make-up as part of the ASOS band is so much different from her Shan Cai role, the F4 would sometimes see her with her dark clothes and dark nail polish. Vanness would even call her a “witch”.
-Ate observed that when Jerry and Barbie are together, they are sweet to each other. But when F3 are there with them, Jerry keeps a distance. In addition, she said that there is truth to the rumor that Ken courted Barbie during the early part of MG1. Barbie’s very secretive of her lovelife so the F4 didn’t know Blue at first. Ken knew about him only after Barbie informed him of her boyfriend. --In Ate’s collection of tapes, part of that showed the bloopers of the cast in both MG1 and MG2 (these were shown in Taiwan but not part of the cds available in the Philippines). In the fire exit scene (MG1 episode 4), after DMS woke up feeling better after resting on Shan Cai’s lap, he was supposed to thank her with a kiss at the staircase. The director told her to push him but when she kicked him, she inadvertently kicked hard which made Jerry hit his head on the wall. Jerry teasingly asked Barbie why she had to kick him so hard. She embraced him and said sorry. Then when they re-took the scene, Jerry made a sudden move towards her that it made Barbie hit her head this time. The both of them laughed, and this time, it was Barbie who teased Jerry and asked him if he was taking a ‘revenge’ on her.
-As for their kissing scene, it has been reported that it took 20 minutes to film. We know that Jerry was very nervous during the shooting. Aside from forgetting his lines, they were laughing at Jerry because in many instances, he didn’t know where to put Shan Cai’s hand while kissing her. In some occasions, he would put Barbie’s hand on his chest or he would put his hand on her cheek. Since he had a big hand, it would easily cover her face so the director would say “ CUT!” again. They all had a field day teasing and laughing at Jerry for being so nervous at that moment.

JERRY DENIES RUMOURS:
After completing their concert in Singapore and Malaysia, Jerry Yen heads back to Taiwan, lagging behind the rest of the crew. We managed to catch up with him for a “du jia” interview. Upon mentioning the rumours of him not getting along with the other F3, Jerry expresses that such information is untrue. He’s relationship with the other three are not at its best but he does not feel that the rumours are anywhere near the truth. Angie Cai’s new drama series, <Kuang Ai Long Juan Feng>, it does not feature Jerry but she explains that Vanness and Jerry’s show will start filming the second half of this year. The director is the same as that of MG1. Angie stresses that, “ Every member of F4 is her BAO BEI.”
The last few days, Jerry has been losing sleep every night due various media reports obviously spreading rumours, leading him to feel quite down.
One example that Jerry used was, “During the Hong Kong concert, the media wrote that I was too lazy to even bother with mouthing the songs. What can I say? The organizers wanted me to go into the crowds, when I was walking down, fans were shaking my hands madly by the time I was back on stage, it was already half way through the song. Can this be labeled as lazy?”
Furthermore, regarding the Da S and Jerry issue, even his mother expressed anger with him. “What is with all this? Weren’t you guys friends?” Racking his brains for an answer but still no plausible explanation. He comments, “I would really like to call Barbie and ask her personally.”
Jerry continuously thinks about these kind of things, wondering what he should do and what he can do so that people will like him. Jerry explains, “I feel that many people hate me, to the extent that I’m beginning to hate myself.”
When then were in Las Vegas, everyone was having a great time, expect Jerry, who brooded in his hotel room watching movies. Everyone was beginning to fear that he might have “zi bi zheng.” (the problem Lei had in MG remember?). He says: “I’m trying to keep a low profile now, in case of “re shi sheng fei” I really admire ZZ, Ken and Vanness, no one intentionally tries to hurt them, they are very happy.”
Jerry added lastly, “I’d like to thank everyone who chose me as their Dream Lover.”

THE PRICE OF STARDOM (Xing Zhou Ri Bao 20/02/03)
Jerry Yan who is known to be very temperamental, finally spoke up. From the day he joined the show business, Jerry ignited the most rumours and bad reports as compared to F3. It's not because of his dashing good looks but more on his character and temperament that causes controversies. He frequently behaves differently from F3 and this sparks the tabloids to write about him more.
A quote from Jerry: "I am really envious of Zai Zai, Vanness and Ken, no one will deliberately 'harm' them...." From this you can tell that he is deeply wary of the media. In his belief, the media is only against him and never F3. He thinks that F3 are very fortunate.
But has Jerry thought of why the media is only 'against' him? And why the limelight is always focused on him but not F3? Whenever he feels down, the media will somehow know about it. That's all because Jerry's personality is too real. So much so that he doesn't hide it. He ought to know that in the entertainment circle, one has to learn to be a little 'pretentious' or else it will be tough to survive.
Of course, this doesn't mean that it's not good to be real but he has to learn to control his emotions. He should know what the media is after and if he is able to be easy on himself, then there wouldn't be so many unpleasant reports about him.
These few years, the pressure F4 have suffered is not easy for outsiders to comprehend. The name F4 is so famous but how many knows what kind of price they have to pay to be popular? Especially as a group, they not only have to fight back the numerous rumours about them disbanding but they also have to suffer internal 'assaults'. Who can endure all these? It's no wonder that Jerry says: "I also hate myself."
After March, F4 will be focusing on their individual careers but Jerry chose to take a long break to improve on his singing. This obviously is a long term 'investment' if he still wants to stay in this circle. He has to upgrade himself to stay afloat. In this business, it's doesn't mean that by accepting countless jobs, you can always remain popular. By upgrading himself, he can show others that he has other capabilities besides a handsome looking face.

MONEY MAKING TEARS:
During Jerry’s Taiwan interview <<Feng Mian Ren Wu>>, the topic of his family and issues surrounding this sensitive was mentioned, leading to Jerry shedding emotional tears. This emotion-packed segment received great audience response and in order to receive wider audience reception, the tv station separated into 2 parts. This interview was then promoted worldwide, purchased by tv stations for US$4000 (NT$30 000). Even Jerry’s tears are worth money!

Jerry Fans pushing and shoving
F4’s Jerry Yan arrived at Hong Kong airport yesterday – alone. Even though it was not an appearance of all four, Jerry alone managed to attract hundreds of fans at the airport. Many arrived as early as nine o’clock. Besides the 50 security guards and on duty patrol officers, the airport was seen to be crowded with fans.
Wearing a cap, Jerry arrived at 12:45pm and was immediately flocked with welcoming fans. What should have been a 5 minute walk to the car took over 10 minutes to complete, at the same time fans were pushing and shoving. Some even fell but were fortunately not hurt.
Even though, Jerry was surrounded by fans and could barely move, he was still full of smiles and even managed to hold onto all the presents handed to him on the stairs.
Lastly, Jerry got onto the car and drove off, with some fans chasing behind in taxis.

Yan Chengxu arrived ahead of F3, at HK for rehearsal
Previously, after F4 completed their world tour, Jerry went back to taiwan alone after the others, hence arousing a series of rumors saying that he's on bad terms with F3. Yesterday, he once again left F3 behind and arrived at HK alone, for the Pepsi Charity Concert's rehearsals.
Close to 100 fantatic fans were there to welcome him with their ear-piercing screams
Yesterday afternoon, under the security of 50 guards, Jerry arrived at the HK airport. The minute Jerry appeared, close to 100 fans immediately went crazy and started squeezing their way to the front, in the hope of seeing Jerry up close and passing him presents. Jerry, who's in a really good mood, not only accepted each and every present stuffed into his face, throughout the whole 'ordeal', he was smiling and often waved to his fans. During then, 6 police officers were there to stand-by in case of fans' riots, however there were still fans who fell in the midst of the mess. Luckily, no one was hurt. When asked why Jerry arrived in HK earlier, his manager explained: "There's some special arrangements for his performance segment, hence Jerry had to come here earlier for preparation and rehearsals." After Jerry got on the car arranged to fetch him, some fans booked 2 cabs to chase after him.
After Jerry arrived at the hotel, immediately, he started discussing the concert details with the concert's management. Straight after that, he went to TVB for rehearsals.

Jerry's solo flight fuels F4 rumours
HongKong - F4's Jerry Yen took a flight from Taipei to Hongkong on his own to rehearse for a Saturday charity concert, inviting more talk that he is not getting along with the other three members of the band.
But concert organisers said Yen had been scheduled to rehearse at different times from the others. The pop quartet would be performing solo sets as well as making a group appearance at the concert.
Other performers would include Aaron Kwok, Jay CHou and Sammi Cheng.
During the weekend reports said F4 has been confirmed to appear in Meteor Farm, a movie co-starring Vicki Zhao and produced by Jeff Lau.
